Darren didn't join Briar until a
few years in, replacing Dean Rogers, he was at the same school (Hodge
Hill) as Dean & Kevin he was a huge U2 fan, much to the
annoyance of Dean (who hated them....at the time !), and made a
steady name for himself on the Birmingham music scene as an
extremely talented (& good looking !) guitarist.Darrens dad started building him guitars as soon as Darren got the Briar job, and the lads had a great laugh whenDarren turned up one day to a jam with 2 brand new idetical guitars as The Edge (U2 guitarist !) used....yep he was just a bit of a fan.
Since Briar has split Darren has been giving guitar lessons and really getting into Jazz guitar, which he has mastered with ease, he has also set up his own studio.
He hasn't played music with any of Briar since the split, altho remains good friends with all the members.
